Kaki Ribera del Xúquer is a Protected Designation of Origin registered under file number PDO-ES-0114, granted EU protection on 9 February 2002, covering fresh persimmon produced in the Ribera del Xúquer area of Valencia, Spain. The designation is administered by the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación Geográfica Protegida 'Kaki Ribera del Xúquer'. The specification requires fruit to be presented with the calyx attached, with or without the peduncle.

Tasting notes

Valencian persimmon DOP from Ribera del Xúquer, Rojo Brillante variety. Bright orange-red, crisp firm flesh, intensely sweet flavor without astringency (the no-astringency feature is distinctive).
