Manzana de Girona / Poma de Girona is a Protected Geographical Indication registered under file number PGI-ES-0154, granted EU protection on 14 September 2000. It covers fresh apples of the species Malus domestica Borkh L belonging to the Golden, Red Delicious, Gala, and Granny Smith groups of varieties, grown in the Girona comarcas of Catalonia, Spain. The specification requires a hardness of 1,5 to 2 kg. Numbered labels are supplied by the Consejo Regulador de la IGP Manzana de Girona.
