Sal de Añana carries no EU protected designation. It is a salt harvested from underground saline springs in the Valle Salado de Añana, in the Álava province of the Basque Country. The springs yield a geological fossil-sea-salt. The product takes the form of bright white crystals and is described as having a sweet-mineral character.
