Asperge des Sables des Landes

Asperge des Sables des Landes is a PGI-protected fresh asparagus, registered under file number PGI-FR-0272 and granted EU protection on 23 February 2005 (eAmbrosia: EUGI00000013617). The designation covers white and purple spears grown in sandy soils of the Landes region of south-west France. Only varieties producing white or purple asparagus and contained on the applicant's authorised list are permitted.

Tasting notes

Landes asparagus IGP from sandy coastal soils, predominantly white asparagus. Distinctive ivory-white spears with violet-tinged tips, tender thick stalks, mildly sweet flavor with delicate vegetal notes.
