Melon du Quercy
Melon du Quercy is a fresh Charentais-type melon produced within a defined area spanning communes in the departments of Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, and Tarn-et-Garonne, France. Registered as a PGI under file number PGI-FR-0086, it must weigh at least 450 g, display a smooth or netted grey/green to yellow peel with orange flesh, and achieve a minimum refractive index of 11° Brix. It is sold whole and packaged.
Tasting notes
Quercy melon IGP from south-west France. Charentais-type cantaloupe, intensely fragrant sweet flesh.
HoReCa use
Classic with Jambon de Bayonne (south-west variant of melon-prosciutto antipasto); summer fruit dessert, sorbet.
