Clementine del Golfo di Taranto is a Protected Geographical Indication registered under file number PGI-IT-0247, covering fresh clementines of the species Citrus clementine Hort. ex Tanaka produced within the province of Taranto, Italy. Permitted cultivars are Comune, Fedele, Precoce di Massacra (Spinoso), Grosso Puglia, ISA, SRA 63, and SRA 89. The specification permits no other cultivar.
Tasting notes
Apulian clementine from Taranto Gulf coast, Comune and Hernandina varieties. Bright orange skin, easy-peel, juicy seedless flesh, sweet flavor with floral notes.
HoReCa use
The designation covers clementines supplied fresh to the consumer and, under separate conditions, fruit intended for processing into preserved citrus preparations.
