The designation covers pears of the varieties William, Max Red Bartlett, Conference, Decana del Comizio, Abate Fetel, and Kaiser, grown using non-intensive methods within a defined continuous area of the province of Mantua, principally the Oltrepò mantovano. The applicant group was the Consorzio Pera Tipica Mantovana.
