Uva da tavola di Mazzarrone is a protected geographical indication for table grapes produced in the Mazzarrone district on the Catania–Ragusa border in Sicily, registered as a PGI on 17 November 2000 under file number PGI-IT-0170. The designation covers fresh table grapes grown by the 'tendone' overhead trellis method, with the 'controspalliera' espalier method additionally permitted for the Cardinal cultivar.
Tasting notes
Sicilian table grape from Mazzarrone area (Catania province), multiple varieties (Italia, Black Magic, Red Globe, Vittoria, Sublima etc.). Large grapes, sweet juicy flavor, multi-color range from green to amber to deep purple.
