The designation covers cherries grown in the subdistricts of Fundão, Covilhã and Belmonte from specified regional varieties — "De Saco", "Napoleão Pé Comprido", "Morangão", "Espanhola" — and the varieties "B. Burlat", "B. Windsor" and "Hedelfingen". The applicant group was the Cooperativa Agrícola dos Fruticultores da Cova da Beira.
