Maçã da Beira Alta is a fresh apple registered as a PGI on 21 June 1996 under file number PGI-PT-0248. The designation covers apples of the species Malus domestica Borkh, produced from varieties of the groups Golden, Gala, Red Delicious, Starking, Jonagold, Granny Smith, Jonared, and Reinetas, grown within the districts of Viseu and Guarda and the subdistricts of Oliveira do Hospital, Tábua, and Arganil in the district of Coimbra.
