Pêssego da Cova da Beira is a fresh peach registered as a PGI under file number PGI-PT-0257, with EU protection granted on 21 June 1996. The designation covers peaches grown in the parishes of Fundão, Covilhã, Manteigas and Belmonte from varieties including Dixired, Red Top, J.H. Hale, Merril Franciscan Black, Rubidoux, Carnival and Halloween, cultivated in deep, well-drained granite-origin soils.
