Sal Tradicional de Tavira carries no EU protected designation. It is a sea salt produced by hand-harvesting from the saltpans of Tavira, in the Algarve region of Portugal. The product occurs in two forms: sal grosso, a bright white coarse crystal, and flor de sal, a finer surface flake. The specification claims a mineral-rich salt flavour.
